Blacksheep Barn
Blacksheep Barn: Bespoke new-build house
The design of this newbuild within the grounds of an existing property in Boxgrove sought to emulate a traditional barn building whilst taking full advantage of modern energy efficient specification. This traditional barn-style design was not only aesthetically desirable but also an important element in gaining planning permission as it was deemed sensitive to the setback position.
The result is striking: Black timber cladding states a departure from a typical executive home look and inside it is confidently adorned with character oak finishes. Oak beams inside continue the barn feel of the property as does the more traditional rough pitted plaster finish.
Feedback has been extremely positive, both on the excellent approach to project management the company exhibited during the build and the quality of workmanship evident in the completed house.
“I was encouraged from the outset that the management of the project was going to meet my expectations, both in the professionalism of communication and the attention to detail of everyone involved.
Even more pleasing and rewarding was the attitude and interest of each and every member of the Martin Sewell staff and sub-contractors in achieving the best possible result.
I can say in all honesty that it was a pleasure to be on site every day and that I am thrilled with the outcome – it is closer to my initial vision than I could possibly have hoped.”
