Strawberry Tree: Interior loft conversion doubles light and space

The project was fully enclosed with a scaffold roof and sides to minimise water damage and delay.

The work effectively doubled the space and the entrance hall became an open gallery area where light beams in allowing the owners to enjoy a number of their paintings in full daylight.

The warm tones of Scandinavian pine and the oak staircase have added to the cosy cottage feel but opened it out, with lots of interesting angles and curves adding to a subtle but sophisticated makeover.

On time, on budget, with a high-end finish, the craftsmen at The Martin Sewell Building Company have transformed a limited space into a space that is welcoming, adaptable and double in size. Looking back, it is very difficult to imagine how the house was originally.
