Happy New Year from all the MSBC team!
We’ve continued to experience a very strong flow of enquiries this year, and despite the challenges this industry is facing, 2022 is set to be another very positive year for MSBC. We have secured a vast array of contracts for 2022, with space still for a few more!
We’re steering more towards negotiated contracts, Cost+ (open book) tenders and design and build appointments. By joining these conversations at an earlier stage, we’re able to help to ensure that the design and budget are kept in line with our clients’ expectations.
Running now and into the new year, we are working on several historic buildings undergoing extension and refurbishment, all finished to the highest standards. Well done to all of our hardworking site teams and those managing these.
We will complete on a large indoor swimming pool and dream workshop. We were appointed during the design stage, and it’s fantastic to see the client’s visions come to life. We’ve also completed two significant phases including extension to St Pauls church in central Chichester, and are about to start on a further six month programme of internal refurbishments to the main church. Reflecting on our ongoing maintenance programmes at Prebendal School, and at the Cowdray Estate, it’s great to be continuously invited back to work with such well recognised establishments. Our sites have stretched from Chichester harbourside, right across many of the South Downs villages including Graffham, Heyshott and several right on our doorstop here in Slindon.
We love the variety of works we undertake, with many combining modern building design and methods with traditional materials in keeping with this beautiful area. We are always keen to introduce environmentally friendly improvements and adaptations to the projects we’re working on and we’re seeing an increase in clients who would like to explore these with us too.
We have an exciting new software, Buildertrend, going live on 1 January. This follows six months of preparation and will introduce a new interactive platform between our management and clients via their own portal (mobile app) offering live tracking functions to both parties. The aim is to increase our project efficiency, reduce risk, and take our planning, programming, and cost control to a whole new level. Our clients have given us excellent feedback on this saying it gives them a greater sense of inclusion and reduces the common anxieties experienced when embarking on any major building project.
