It feels like a long time ago now that at the end of March we nervously sent everybody home and hung out the “temporarily closed” sign for lockdown.  After such a tremulous Spring we are pleased to say that we are back on track and embracing the new ‘normal’.  Thankfully, the team are all fit and healthy and armed with our PPE and COVID-19 operating procedures we are throwing ourselves back into our projects all across the South Coast.  We have even expanded our MSBC family - we are very pleased introduce our new Estimator, Adam Chan and to welcome one lockdown baby safely delivered in April and another born last month.

When we re-opened our doors our first priority was of course, to return to the clients with partially completed projects these included intricate internal alterations to a stunning barn in the beautiful village of Wepham followed by extensive external landscaping.

In Slindon at a project to refurbish the ground floor, provide a front porch extension and external landscaping we returned to finish the remodelling of the ground floor layout to create an open plan living with separate kitchen/dining area and installation of underfloor heating which was grooved into the existing concrete slab to allow for constant and effective source of heating which allowed to maximise the existing floor make up without raising the floor levels.  A plant room was constructed to house the large equipment for the ground source heating cylinders, solar PV and other specialised equipment such as water softener and data cabinet.

We are excited to be working with St Paul’s Church in Chichester constructing a new entrance way which will dramatically improve disabled access and we have just submitted our tender for their phase 2 works which consist of new extensions and internal and external alterations.

At another site we are overseeing the installation of 700sqm of cobbles reclaimed from Kings Cross station to complete a magnificent new driveway and we are nearing completion on a stunning new extension for Peter Symonds College in Winchester.

Up and coming projects include refurbishment works on 8 properties in the Midhurst area for Cowdray Estates, maintenance works at Chidham School, external and internal repairs to a historic tower in Havant and a bespoke kitchen refurbishment in Graffham.

Unfortunately, due to the lockdown the Pioneering the Potential sustainability event that we are supporting was going to be held at the Weald & Downland Museum in Singleton has been postponed.    The event will still take place although in a slightly different form, more news on this as it becomes available!
