The clients wished to retain the existing layout of the main house, so any internal reconfiguration was ruled out at the outset. This led to discussions around introducing an additional building to the site, an approach that would provide the space they needed without altering the original structure.
MSBC was instructed on a full design-and-build basis, appointing both the architect and structural engineer and coordinating the project from the earliest stages. We guided the clients through the planning process and managed build costs from the beginning, offering clarity through early forecasting. Key trusted subcontractors were compiled, and the primary packages, including the off-site timber frame, were competitively tendered to ensure best value.
The result is a unique building that complements the home and provides a practical, peaceful space separate from the main house, reflecting the clients’ brief and the collaborative approach taken from the very first conversation.
