Historic Building
The Martin Sewell Building Company was engaged to carry out extensive external works to a beautiful old vicarage, focusing on the conservation and repair of its timber-framed windows and doors. Every window was carefully restored using specialist resin repair techniques provided by Repair Care, ensuring durability without compromising the building’s historic character.
This project represented a significant step in safeguarding the vicarage’s external elevations, combining modern conservation products with traditional craftsmanship. By repairing and conserving the existing timber rather than replacing it, the works help to preserve the property’s original features while extending their lifespan for decades to come.
Maintaining a property of this scale requires a thoughtful balance between functionality and heritage value. The repairs not only strengthen and protect the structure but also enhance its visual appeal, allowing the vicarage to retain its architectural charm and historic presence within the community.
Through careful intervention, MSBC has supported the long-term preservation of the building’s fabric, helping ensure that this much-loved property continues to serve as both a home and a testament to the enduring character of traditional English architecture.
